Indications for use:
Selemin 5C amino acid solution is intended for full or partial parenteral nutrition. It is prescribed for the prevention and treatment of protein deficiency due to severe loss and (or) increased demand for proteins.
Inability to eat due to lack of consciousness, coma.
In surgery: pre- and postoperative period, when normal food intake is impossible or undesirable – various complications of intraoperative,
Neurological and mental illnesses that exclude the possibility of normal nutrition.
A severe course of infectious diseases with pronounced symptoms of intoxication, high fever, prolonged diarrheal syndrome, etc.; anaerobic infection.
All etiological and clinical forms of severe protein-energy malnutrition (alimentary, endocrine, psychogenic, cancer cachexia, etc.)
Method of administration and dosage
The dosage of the drug is selected individually for each patient in accordance with the age, condition and weight of the patient. The drug should be administered intravenously by drip.
Adults:
1.0 – 2.0 g amino acids / kg body weight per day. The daily volume of the drug should not exceed 200-800 ml. The rate of administration is 60 drops per minute = 180 ml / hour.
Newborns and children:
0.20 – 0.25 g amino acids / kg body weight per day. The rate of administration is 15-20 drops per minute at the beginning of the infusion, then 30-40 drops per minute.
